How the app is lit. Nothing to do with the colour of the mark.
Automatic goes by the device, so a phone asking its browser for the desktop site gets the computer layout. This device only.
Only the logo changes colour. Everything else stays as it is.
Three or six characters, like F0A or A855F7. Very light or very dark colours switch Appearance to the mode they show up in.
Off, buttons and highlights stay purple whatever colour the mark is. A mark with no colour left in it — black, white, grey — always leaves them purple.
When a story says Y/N, you read what you put here instead. Every story, anyone's. Leave one empty and it reads as written. Nothing anyone wrote is changed.

The Notebook
Every chapter saves here before it goes anywhere else, so a dead signal never costs you a sentence. When there is a connection your account catches up, and the same story opens on your phone and your computer.
Publishing
Drafts stay in your Notebook. When a story is ready, publishing puts a copy on Home for everyone to read. Edits after that wait until you push them, so no reader ever sees a chapter halfway through a rewrite.
Readers
Readers vote on chapters, save stories to their library and leave a note beside the exact line that got to them. Rewrite that line later and the note says so, rather than pinning itself to the wrong one.
Reader-insert
Write Y/N, E/C or any of the standard blanks where they belong. Each reader answers once, and every story they open fills itself in. Your draft never changes.
Finding stories
Every story carries a rating, its warnings and the tags its writer chose. Once a tag holds fifty stories, it ranks them by reads, votes and saves.
An account keeps your writing on every device you use, and lets you publish and comment, and talk with the people you read on their pages.
